Jonny is a very experienced trainer with a very kind & patient approach to dogs and their handlers!

Jonny has also judged at WGDS tests in the past.

 A WGDS training Day For Retrievers Over Water With Martyn Evans


Date : Sunday 19th May 2019

Time:   9.45am meet for 10am – 12 noon session

Level: Novice  ( established foundation skills ) with some experience of entering water.

Venue : Drakes Broughton.

Cost : £23 per dog/handler for members £25 for non-member

This session will be working on going in , across and over water .

A lot of you will have met Martyn when he volunteers to help with our monthly training sessions.

Martyn has great experience training his own dogs from puppy to intermediate as well as a passion for helping others .

 WGDS Spaniel Training  with Michelle Oseman "Training a positive Stop Whistle”

Lesson Content : This training session will cover the 7 stages to training a positive stop whistle. We will discuss why the 'Stop Whistle' is an important tool for handlers in the shooting field, at competitive level and for those dogs that may not work or compete. We will demonstrate the end result and then demonstrate the 7 stages of training. All the handlers will then work their dogs through the stages.  A handout will be available detailing all the stages to help home training.

Level : Beginner/ Novice

About Michelle
:  Michelle splits her time between picking up duties and running Copse Hill Training, a busy dog training business in the heart of the Cotswolds. During the shooting season, Michelle picks up four or five days a week with a pack of Cockers and Springers and heads the picking up team at Cold Aston Shoot. She has also competed successfully in Working Tests and Trials. She is also a contributor to the newly launched ‘Gundog Journal’

Spring Training


    Spring Training

Venue : Tythe Barn, Alcester Road , Harvington, WR118NT.

Dates :  25th April ; 2nd May ; 9th May ; 16th May 

Time : 7pm – 9pm.

Cost : Members £30 per course ( 1 dog only) Non members £45 per course ( 1 dog only)

Closing Date  for booking : Wednesday 17th April

     Places will be allocated ‘first come first served’ and dependant on the availability of the volunteers trainers 
 

The purpose of this course is to offer training & guidance for general obedience, which is required in Field Sports   

 

The beginners course: ( all breeds together) will be working on Foundation Skills :

Sit on command ( & stay) : walk to heal ( on & off the lead): Stop to the whistle : recall.

This course will be run as 2 x 1 hour sessions. 1 hour for dog & handler working and 1 hour observing.


The Novice courses : for dogs that can do all of the above most of the time (!) and will be working on a variety of skills   

  

The intermediate groups :Covering similar skills to the novice classes but over longer distances and with  more distractions.

Spaniel Training  with Steve Bates


Venue;  Brock Hill , Brockhill Lane Redditch B976RB

 Date; Saturday 27th April 2019

Times: 9am – 12 Novice Dogs

            1pm – 4pm Open Dogs

With an opportunity to chat to Steve over lunch 12-1pm

 

Cost: £25 per dog for members

         £30 per dog for non members

            ( 1 dog per person per session)

Max places available:  10 am & 10 pm

This is an opportunity to have a lesson with a top class trainer.

Steve Bates is an A panel Judge as well as an experienced & successful field trial competitor.

Steve has been trailing since 1998 and has regularly qualified for the Championships.

He has made up a number of ESS FTCH as well as wins with Cockers.
